When I first started exploring essential oils, something ancient and intuitive awakened in me. You know that feeling when you open a little bottle of lavender, and your whole nervous system just... exhales. ✨
For me, it’s not just about fragrance or wellness – it’s about bringing nature into everyday life. Creating small rituals that support the body, mind, and home – in a natural and sustainable way.
Here I’m sharing some of my favorite ways to use essential oils – simple, natural hacks that you can begin with today 💛

🪻1. Lavender in the Laundry – a Calm Scent for Yoga Clothes and Bed Linen
When I wash my sheets, towels, or yoga clothes, I add 3 drops of organic lavender essential oil to the fabric softener compartment. It leaves everything smelling fresh, clean, and deeply calming – perfect for relaxing into bed or onto your mat.
🍃 2. DIY Bug Spray – Natural and Effective
I love being outside – but not mosquitos. Instead of spraying my skin with chemicals, I make my own bug spray, and it actually works!
Recipe:
100 ml water (or half witch hazel or vodka for better preservation)
10 drops citronella
10 drops lavender
5 drops eucalyptus
5 drops geranium or tea tree→ Shake well and spray on skin and clothes before heading outdoors.
🍋 3. Citrus in the Diffuser – Fresh Morning Energy
When I need an energetic boost (or I’m just feeling a bit “meh”), I add 2–3 drops of orange or grapefruit essential oil to my diffuser. It smells like joy – perfect for morning yoga or work-from-home vibes.
→ Tip: Citrus oils are known for cleansing the air and uplifting your mood.
🌬 4. Breathe Easy with Eucalyptus
If I’m feeling congested or low in energy, I boil some water, add 2 drops of eucalyptus oil, and inhale the steam under a towel. It opens the breath and gives me a sense of spaciousness in my body.
→ You can also drop a few drops on the shower floor – the steam will do the rest.
🌛 5. Evening Ritual: Sleep Blend in a Roller Bottle
I created my own bedtime blend that I roll onto my pulse points before sleep. It's soothing, grounding, and perfect for quieting an overactive mind.
Recipe:
4 drops lavender
2 drops frankincense
2 drops bergamot
1 drop vetiver→ Blend in a roller bottle with a carrier oil (like jojoba or almond oil)
🌱 6. Natural Cleaning – For You and the Earth
I make my own multi-purpose cleaning spray and use it on the kitchen counter, yoga mat, and bathroom surfaces.
Recipe:
50% vinegar
50% water
15 drops of tea tree or lemon oil→ Shake well, spray, breathe in – and feel the difference.
🌙 7. Cycle Support – Hormonal Balance and Self-Care
Essential oils can be beautiful companions through the menstrual cycle. I use a blend of clary sage, geranium, and lavender in a carrier oil and massage it gently onto my lower belly in the luteal phase (just before menstruation).
→ It pairs beautifully with a hot water bottle and deep breaths.

A Few Things to Know Before You Start:
Always use pure, organic oils from trusted sources
Never apply undiluted oils directly to the skin
Citrus oils are photosensitive – avoid direct sun exposure after use
If pregnant or using with children, consult a professional and go gently
Less is more – these drops are potent 💧
For You Who Crave More Nature, Stillness & Connection...
Essential oils are, to me, a way to return to what’s simple and real. A tiny reminder that nature is always close, even in the middle of everyday life. Maybe you feel it too – the call to create small sacred moments in your own home?
Feel free to share which oils you love in the comments – or ask anything you're curious about. I’d love to connect 💛
